BRS MLC denies making abusive remarks against Telangana Assembly Speaker

Hyderabad, Sep 7 (SocialNews.XYZ) BRS MLC Tata Madhusudhan denied making any abusive or derogatory remarks against Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar.

The Member of Legislative Council issued a clarification after the Assembly condemned his remarks and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and several ministers demanded that he be dismissed from the House.

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) legislator made the remarks during a protest by the party MLAs and MLCs when they were stopped at the Assembly entrance by the police for wearing black T-shirts with slogans.

The MLC said that the Congress leaders attributed words to him that he never said.

“If the remarks I made are perceived as being directed at the Speaker, I withdraw those comments. I express regret for the same,” he said.

He alleged that BRS MLAs and MLCs were attacked when they were entering the legislature complex.

The MLC said the police punched him repeatedly in the stomach. “Despite being punched in the stomach, I did not say a word. Out of intolerance, they attributed words to me that I never uttered,” he said.

Stating that he has high regard and respect for the chair of the Speaker, the MLC denied uttering a word against him.

Tata Madhusudhan, also known as Tata Madhu, alleged that BRS MLAs elected by the people were attacked by police. Even the women legislators were not spared.

He demanded that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who also holds the Home portfolio, must apologise for the incident involving the women MLAs.

He said the actions of policemen, like pulling the clothes of women legislators, pulling their hair and strangling them, were all shameful for a civilised society. He alleged that police attacked senior leaders like Yadava Reddy, Jagdish Reddy, Harish Rao, KTR and Dr Sanjay and dragged them.

Demanding that the police take action against those involved in these incidents, the MLC said he would speak in detail about the issue in the Legislative Council on Tuesday.
